Frequently Asked Questions

Shoreline Roofing & Restoration — FAQ
General
Q: How do I know if I need a full roof replacement or just a repair? A: We offer free same-day roof inspections to answer exactly that. Our team will assess the age of your roof, extent of damage, and condition of your materials. If a repair will last, we'll tell you. If replacement is the smarter investment, we'll explain why — no pressure, no upselling.
Q: How long does a full roof replacement take?
A: Most residential roof replacements are completed in 1–2 days. Larger homes or complex rooflines may take 3 days. We work efficiently and won't leave your home exposed overnight.
Q: What roofing materials do you work with?
A: We install asphalt shingles, metal roofing, and more. As a GAF Certified contractor, we use premium materials backed by manufacturer warranties. During your free inspection we'll walk you through the best options for your home and budget.
Storm Damage & Insurance
Q: My roof was damaged in a storm — what should I do first?
A: Call us. We offer emergency services and can inspect your roof same day. We'll document all damage thoroughly and help you file your insurance claim correctly from the start — mistakes during the claims process can cost you money.
Q: Do you work with insurance companies?
A: Yes. We work directly with all major insurance carriers and guide you through every step of the claims process — from the initial inspection and damage report to final completion. Many of our customers pay little to nothing out of pocket for storm damage repairs.
Q: Will my insurance cover my roof replacement?
A: It depends on your policy and the cause of damage. Storm damage, wind, and hail are typically covered. Wear and tear usually isn't. We'll help you understand what your policy covers and make sure your claim includes all eligible damage.
Pricing & Financing
Q: How much does a roof replacement cost?
A: Every roof is different — size, pitch, material, and damage all affect the price. We provide free, detailed estimates so you know exactly what you're paying for before any work begins. There are no hidden fees.
Q: Do you offer financing?
A: Yes. We offer flexible financing options to fit a range of budgets. You shouldn't have to put off protecting your home because of upfront cost. Ask us about financing during your free inspection.
Q: Do you offer free estimates?
A: Yes — all inspections and estimates are completely free with no obligation.
Metal Roofing
Q: Is metal roofing worth the extra cost?
A: For most homeowners in coastal North Carolina, yes. Metal roofs last 40–70 years compared to 20–25 for asphalt, and they hold up significantly better against high winds, heavy rain, and hurricane conditions. They can also lower your insurance premiums and energy bills over time.
Q: How long does metal roof installation take?
A: Most metal roof installations are completed in 2–3 days depending on the size and complexity of your roof.
Q: Is metal roofing loud when it rains?
A: This is a common concern — the answer is no, not with proper installation. When installed over solid decking with insulation, a metal roof is no louder than an asphalt roof.
Warranty & Quality
Q: Do your roofs come with a warranty?
A: Yes. As a GAF Certified contractor we offer manufacturer-backed material warranties. We also stand behind our workmanship. We'll go over all warranty details with you before your project begins.
Q: What happens after the job is done?
A: We perform a detailed final inspection before we consider a job complete. Our crew cleans up all debris and materials from your property. Your satisfaction is confirmed before we close out the project.
